Nick Mystrom is that rarest of college football players in this age of specialization: The guy who does everything. He punts, he kicks, he catches, he takes out the garbage. Well, maybe not everything. But close. He punts, kicks extra points and field goals and is a full-time position player at wide receiver for Colorado College.

Nick Mystrom began last football season as the kicker and punter for West High. He was destined to swing his foot maybe 10 times a game and otherwise hang out on the sidelines. But injuries hit the West defensive secondary in the second game of the year against Chugiak. Mystrom found himself on the field five minutes before the second half began, watching assistant coach Todd Arndt run pass patterns so the newlydrafted cornerback knew what they looked like.

Memphis kicker Nick Mystrom has made the Mad Dogs early season kicking troubles seem long ago. Mystrom was 6-of-6 Sunday, hitting field goals of 26, 32, 34, 51, 29 and 30 yards on the day, which ties for the third most field goals in a game in CFL history.
